About us
Dr. Loretta Chee
Loretta Chee graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology in 1985. After graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 1988, she moved back to Southern California. Dr. Chee has been practicing family, pediatric and general dentistry in Orange County ever since.
Her gentle and careful approach has resulted in many of her pediatric patients continuing to enjoy her expertise as adults. Dr. Chee continues to broaden her knowledge and is committed to staying current with the newest dental techniques and approaches through ongoing Continuing Education classes.
When not at the office, Dr. Chee can be found helping out in her church or hanging out with her husband Mark, and their son Lucas. Foodie to her core, she enjoys trying different and new restaurants with friends and family. Whenever possible, she finds time for personal development, skiing and traveling around the world.
Dr. Alyssa Burns
Alyssa Meister Burns was born and raised in Laguna Niguel. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2012 and Loma Linda University Dental School with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2017.
Dr. Burns' passion for dentistry and patient care was stoked by her father, Dr. Robert Meister, who has practiced orthodontics in Orange County for over four decades.
Dr. Burns was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship by the U.S. Army for dental school and served for three years as a dental officer in the U.S. Army after graduation. She was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. After leaving active duty in 2020,
Dr. Burns returned to her native Orange County and is excited to join Dr. Chee's practice.
Aside from being a veteran herself, Dr. Burns is married to a Marine Corps veteran. She is passionate about supporting military and veteran families and is active in Operation Help a Hero, based out of Camp Pendleton.
Dr. Burns and her husband Leland have a four-year-old daughter Emma and a one-year-old son William. When she's not in the office, Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with her family, snowboarding, and Anaheim Ducks hockey.
Tahera Fazel, Front Office
A childhood in Tanzania, East Africa, her teenage years in Allentown, PA, and most of her adult life in CA, Tahera brings to our office an amazing global perspective and fluency in 4 languages.
What she loves most about being a part of our dental team, is to see patients walking out with clean shining teeth and a big smile on their faces.
In her free time, what gives her the most joy is to go for hikes, long walks on the beach, traveling around the world or just simply spending the time hanging out with friends and family. A self-proclaimed neat freak, she prefers everything in order, however, sometimes her tendencies even drives herself nuts.
Sara Montanez, R.D.A., Front Office
Although Sara started as an RDA in the back office, she has spent most of her 38 years in the dental field as a front office coordinator. Her specialty has become understanding the ever-changing insurance landscape. The satisfaction and joy she feels in her professional role is in meeting people from different walks of life, helping them understand and navigate their dental coverage to maximize their benefits and their dental care.
A native of Orange County, Sara has the luxury of having her extended family living in proximity, where get-togethers are common occasions. In her free time, she finds opportunities for weekend getaways, cooking elaborate meals for her family or spending time in her garden.
Judy Mori, R.D.A.
Judy is the brain and heartbeat of the back office and has been in the dental field for the last 45 years. Ever the foodie, she engages patients in mouthwatering conversations during their appointments. She loves getting to know patients, creating a dental family, and helping them overcome any dental anxiety they may have. Judy grew up in Monterey Park and settled in Fountain Valley after she married. In her spare time, Judy’s passions include her family and love of animals. She loves spending time with family and friends, having backyard get-togethers and barbecuing, taking road trips, gardening, trying new restaurants, and tending to her animals. If she could, Judy would love to see all dogs rescued and find forever homes.
A newly minted grandma, she is looking forward to spending time with her first grandchild and nurturing another generation of a foodie.
Jay-An Bulan, R.D.A.
Jay- An grew up in a small countryside town in Iloilo, Philippines. She decided to pursue dentistry because she has always been fascinated by the intersection of science & art, and she wanted to make a positive impact on people's lives by helping them maintain healthy smiles.
She feels the best part about working in a dental office is the opportunity to build relationships with patients and witness the transformation in their confidence and oral health over time.
In her free time, she loves trying new recipes and going on short road trips to explore the outdoors, with her husband and dog. Her passion in life is spreading kindness and positivity wherever she goes, whether it's through volunteering in her community or simply brightening someone's day with a smile.
A quirky fact about Jay-An is that she laughs uncontrollably while watching comedy shows. It never fails to bring her joy and amusement, much to the amusement of those around her!
Diane Soto, R.D.A., R.D.H.
Di started in the dental profession as an RDA in 2007 and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2017. She believes that the best part of her profession is people! Between hanging out with her dental family and all the sweet patients she gets to meet each day.
Born and raised in Orange County, Di currently lives in Huntington Beach. She enjoys being outdoors, riding her bike on beach days, and reading on reflective contemplative days. She spends her time off hanging out and doing "mommy things" with her daughter, the new addition to her family.
Her passion in life is to make people laugh.
Her one fun crazy time was when she touted a pink mohawk!
Aline Soumountha, R.D.H.
Growing up in the shadow of Disneyland and Angel Stadium, Aline is a true Orange County native.
She has been in the dental field for over 10 years with a wide range of experience from the dental lab to the front office. Aline decided that in the dental world, connecting and forming relationships with patients in the clinical setting is where her true enjoyment is. This propelled her to go back to school to be a Dental Hygienist. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors with family and friends, going to the beach, hiking, and camping. As a new mom, the days of music concerts have been replaced with joyous weekends of child activities.
For Aline, being ambidextrous is a quality that has been surprisingly helpful as a hygienist.
Karely Amezcua Martinez, R.D.A., R.D.H.
Karely grew up in Los Angeles, CA and loves living in the OC. She was a RDA for 8 years and was recently licensed as a hygienist. She decided to embrace the dental field because when she was younger she lacked awareness for oral hygiene. Now, Karely can share the importance of oral health to others. She thinks that the best thing about her profession is building rapport with her patients and making them feel comfortable for their cleanings.
In her free time, she likes to visit new places, be a foodie, watch movies, read books, and engage in outdoor activities with family and friends. Her joy is seeing how beautiful the world is. She’s excited to start her traveling journey.
A fun fact about Karely is that she’s been watching Spanish soap operas “Novelas” since she was a teenager.
Tara Hoang, R.D.H.
Tara grew up in Alhambra, California. After graduating from UCLA in Art History, she relocated to the East Coast to attain her Masters in Radiation Physics. When she returned to Southern California, Tara earned her dental hygiene degree at Cypress College and has been a dental hygienist for 20 years.
Tara loves to spend time with her nieces and nephew, whether going to the movies or browsing antique shops. One of her favorite things to do is collecting Mid-Century furniture. Most weekends, she also goes hiking with friends. Her passion in life is to help the under-served people--she continually offers her dental skills at orphanages in Cambodia and the rural minorities in China. Her other joy in life is visiting countries and people around the world with her family.
Dee Dee Welch, R.D.H.
A native of California, she graduated from Loma Linda’s Dental School of Hygiene and has been a hygienist for 35-plus years. What she likes best about being a hygienist is when she sees that she is instrumental in improving the health of her patients. Forming friendships with her patients as she gets to know them and their families over the years.
In her free time, she enjoys Bible study with friends, yoga classes, and traveling near and far with her family.
She finds joy and purpose in life when she makes a difference in other people’s lives.
Leilanee Ramirez
Leilanee grew up in Irvine, California. She is a full time student at Mount St. Mary’s University, Majoring in Biology. She enjoys working at our dental office because of the professional women who encourage her to be the best version of herself everyday. They inspire her to set high goals for herself and work hard to achieve them. Leilanee enjoys watching sports, specifically baseball. She also likes to unwind by swimming, listening to music and spending time with family members and loved ones. Her determination and her family and friends bring her joy and peace. In 5 years, Leilanee sees herself attending and excelling in Medical School.
She is good at telling dad jokes and she keeps them in her dad-a-base.
Safe Re-Opening plan
How we are going to do it with your help.
Although the revised CDC and CDPH guidelines removed the mask requirement for fully vaccinated individuals in most indoor work settings, unfortunately CDC and CDPH recommendations for fully vaccinated individuals clearly state that the recommendations do not apply at health care facilities.
I ask for you to familiarize yourself with the environment we have designed for you and for our staff. So that when you have an appointment with us, you can be a part of our protocols, and will have some peace of mind coming in for your visit.
In our clinical rooms, we already have stringent infection control policies as our Standard Universal Protocol that has always been in place, assumes that any patient may have infections unknown to them and us- some infections, like CoVid 19 are also airborne diseases. To enhance our current practices, we have added a couple more protocols. One of the new safety features we are excited about are the 7 medical grade HEPA filter air purifiers we have added in our office!
There are a few additional measures we are taking, and we ask for you to review and support them, as they are to provide an additional level of safety for everyone.
We are confident that in both the clinical rooms and non clinical office areas, we are able to keep both the patients and staff safe and healthy.
Please review our protocols for patients who will visit our office:
- Our goal is to limit the number of people in the waiting room. As such, our patient appointment times will be staggered. We ask that you arrive as close to your appointment time as possible.
- If you are running late, please call the office so that we can coordinate your time of arrival with our patient flow
- If you arrive early, please wait in your car and come up at your appointed time
- If you plan to have a driver or companion with you for the day, we ask for you to have your companion, ride/driver wait in the car, rather than in the waiting room
- If you are coming with your child, we will ask you to come into the clinical room with them.
- At the entrance to our office, please use the hand sanitizer, and then put on the mask provided for you (unless you already have a mask on) before walking into the office.
We ask for your patience as we all walk through these procedures and protocols together.
